Cognative Behavioural Therapy
What is CBT?
It’s a form of psychological therapy that looks at how we think, how we behave and how we feel.
How does it work?
Often people become trapped in negative cycles that maintain their problems, often as a result of past / recent life events. We can work together to identify these cycles and develop more adaptive ways to deal with problems.
Is it any good?
CBT is the recommended treatment in the NHS for a variety of mental health problems. This is advised by an organisation called NICE (www.nice.org.uk) who make recommendations based on thorough clinical research.
What is it for?
CBT can be used for a wide variety of problems. I have been specifically trained to work with all anxiety disorders, mood problems and complex trauma. It’s co-occurrence with personality disorder, Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder. I also have a special interest in neurodiversity and learning to live alongside things like ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Conditions with co-occurring trauma.Get in touch today
